Greetings friends and fans! I've been threatening to write a monthly newsletter for a while now, so here we go - -
The band and I have embarked on an ambitious agenda for 2007. We're releasing a series of singles that will culminate with a CD around the end of the year. The project is titled "Sex, Love and Rock & Roll," and the first single is entitled "It Must Be Saturday Night" and is a classic BusBoys party track. The songs from this project have been inspired by my life here as a native Angelino. It's been a fun, dramatic, musical, tough, surprising, rock, roll and soul existence and I've used it all to guide my pen. Check out IMBSN, let me know what you think - -
We're also working on a documentary film "The Story of Brian O'Neal and The BusBoys." It's being directed by the one and only Ruth Robinson, whose credits include "Motown 25" and "The Dorothy Dandridge Story." She has been a follower of our career since our performance at the Universal Amphitheater, opening for Eddie Murphy on his "Delerious" tour (the DVD has just been released) and I'm sure the film will be informative and entertaining for old and new fans. We've got some cool footage of the band from our Minimum Wage Rock & Roll days, through the filming of some of our current dates.
We're getting ready for a concert we're headlining on July 4th in Yuma, Arizona at the Cocopah Casino . It should be hot both on and off the stage. Rumor has it that the casino management has decided to appoint me the Ambassador of Fun for the entire day. As such, I think I'm going to be walking the casino floor giving away money, casino chips and free drinks. Hey, anyone that knows me can testify that I'm up for celebrating our American independence, especially if my friends and I get to eat, drink, win money and be merry!
They're playing IMBSN on Yuma's Star 100.9 and I'm scheduled to do an in
studio interview the day of the show at 3:00 PM, PDST. It will be streamed
over their internet site which can be accessed at star1009fm.com/. I plan
to see if I can get all 5000 people at the show to sing the chorus, "nah,
nah, nah, nah nah nah hey! It must be Saturday night!" We're going to
take still and moving pictures of the proceedings and post them here on the
site.
Stay tuned - -
